The CFS-2 Stripper is precisely manufactured for stripping the tubing & cladding off fiber optic strands. This stripper has 2 blade openings which allow for easy stripping of fiber optic cables. The 1st blade opening will allow for stripping of buffer tubes or outer jacketing that has a diameter of 2-3mm. The 2nd blade opening will allow for stripping of the protective buffer or silicone coating on the strand of fiber (250-125µm). The stripper is designed not to scratch or nick the fiber strand when stripping, provided it is correctly set / calibrated. The stripper comes pre-set / calibrated from the factory
This CFS-2 stripper features a 1.0mm radiused blade and a 140µm V-blade design. The blades on the stripper are adjusted with a small set screw close to the grip of the handle. This screw will allow for fine adjustments of how deep the stripper will cut into the jackting or buffer layers of the fiber cable. A small hex key is provided with the stripper to allow the user to easily adjust this set screw. Additionally there is a locking mechanism that will allow you to lock the strippers when not in use and prevent damage to the blades on the stripper. The blade is treated with an anti-rust coating, though left submerged or in a damp environment will still allow for corrosion to occur.
