The high precision fiber optic cleaver is used to cut the fiber glass strands used in fusion splicing. When splicing with a fusion splicer you will have to ensure a perfect flat edge of the fiber strand is cut. The cleaner and straighter the angle of the fiber strand the more accuracy you will have with your splice joint.
